The night I fell in love with you

You found me broken

Shards of glass

You pieced back together

Into a mosaic of a boyfriend

And even if you are God’s protégé

A novice artist

Won’t create her masterpiece

With love’s atheist

Forgive me for cutting your hands

As you molded me

To off-key Beethoven symphonies
